The triathlon is made up of three segments or portions. The segments
are the swim, the bike and the run; these portions are always in the
same sequence; swim, bike and run. The triathlon is a part of the genre
called multi-sport events. Multi-sport events include the duathlon
(run-bike-run), biathlon (bike-run or run-bike), and the new aquathon
(swim-bike). All of these sports have a common thread of competition.
The nature of the competition is the individual athlete against the
clock and the athlete against oneself. The traditional athlete versus
athlete competition is present by less visible. |

What is Red Rose Races.com? |

Red Rose Races.com was formed to promote Bicycle Racing, Running and
Multi-sport competitions throughout Lancaster County and southeastern
Pennsylvania areas.
Our goals are to provide a variety of participatory endurance type
events that appeals to the full range of athletic abilities. We want to
raise the bar of the quality and quantity of these types of events.
These sports are also held at the Olympics, and their respective
governing bodies hold national and world championships. From events
such as the ones in this series, promising up-and-coming athletes are
selected for national team development and the community that hosts
them will regularly attract past, current and hopefully, future
Olympians.
